Current plans call for Hartman Cattle Company to establish and maintain a small elite unit of Red Angus females at our Tecumseh location.  There are many reasons that influenced our decision to raise Red Angus. Primarily, with the next generation coming along at Hartman Cattle Company, we don’t feel it’s fair to the kids or our Simmental customers to be in competition with them in the show and sale ring – thus our decision to go with Red Angus. Besides, Red Angus females are good cows and they cross well with Simmental should we choose to mate them that way!

            We want our kids and grandkids to enjoy the same experience we had as we grew in the cattle industry.  They have expressed their desire to show, and we feel it’s one of life’s great youth development projects, so we will support them as we do all youth in agriculture.
